It was a beautiful weekend when I went out onto the golf course on Saturday, June 13th, to photograph some of the many, many Sterling Farms golfers playing. Sterling Farms golfers, all of us, want to play well. We aspire to do better, and arrive at that first tee as eager as beavers. Some won't show it, outwardly, instead being tight-lipped, or conservative, or formal, etc. But, deep down, we all want that first tee shot to barrel its way down the fairway, center-cut, long, and strong, with those other golfers among us in, well, a wee bit of awe. This month, I'm looking for the sparkle in all Sterling Farms golfers. Many don't have the most polished golf swings, are off-balance when they strike the ball, and might even succumb to such dreaded dastardly deeds as the reverse pivot, or lateral shift, or even fall flat on their backs, as I often do. It's all part of the fun, and golf is very fun, especially these days, no matter where our golf balls may go. Here are just a few fine finishes for June. Check back often, as I'll update this gallery all throughout the month, with high hopes of capturing the best in as many of you as I possibly can. You all have fine finishes. All of you.... Read More

Sterling Farms golfers are really good at golf... or at least it sure seems like they are! I'm out there duffing it all of the time, and have met some fine players and people during my days here. Then, I grab my camera, and snap photos of players of all ilks. Some are scratch golfers, some aren't. You see... in the end... it isn't how good, or bad, anyone is... just that we all love, and play, the game. In that respect, we are all 'hot shots', and so, here is where we share the limelight. Check back often, as I'll update this gallery throughout the month. Read More
Golf at Sterling Farms is always memorable, and sometimes in the most unusual ways. Here were a few instances where the moment seemed... well... worth remembering. Read More
Paul Grillo, the Stamford Golf Authority executive director who is, in all senses of the words, basically the CEO of Sterling Farms, wrote in an email that: "Beginning today the Driving Range hours will be extended on Friday and Saturday nights to 11:00pm! Monday-Thursday 6:30 am to 10:00 pm; Friday 6:30 am to 11:00 pm; Saturday 6am to 11:00 pm; Sunday 6am to 10:00 pm. Read More
A lot of people do not know that Paul Grillo, after he graduated from college—with his business degree (he was originally in the PGA's Golf Management Program)—was the man who Golf Digest used as their host, for any and all major client events. Read More
Sterling Farms has greens that, by some standards (in Scotland), might be called tame, only when we add in golf course superintendent (extraordinaire) Mike Golden, to the equation, it becomes crystal-clear that what seems straight, isn't! The putting at Sterling Farms rivals that of any fine country club, or championship venue. Mike personally measures their moisture content, rolls them, does it all, and is a better golfer than most of us to boot! Here are just a few Sterling Farms golfers, this month, who were trying to best the putting greens. Check back often, as I'll update this gallery all of June. Read More
Sterling Farms golfers are a hardy bunch... hardscrabble, rabble-rousing, adventure-seeking suburbanites and country bumpkins all heaped together in a mish mash of political correctness... sometimes. Many walk, and in doing so, maintain their fitness, and help golf course superintendent Mike Golden, and his team, keep every blade of grass as pristine as any public venue anywhere. Well done hoofers! Check back often, as I'll update this gallery throughout the month. Read More
