The Stillery Reopens

Alas… the main food and beverage hub, for pre- and post-golf, is finally open. It has been a rocky road, these past few months, and while we’ve all been bottled up, literally, the Everyday Snack Bar, managed by a team of heroes led by Mayara and Robee, have held the fort. But, this week has been a game-changer for us all, with the main restaurant—The Stillery—now running full throttle once again.

I saw a waiter, didn’t get his name, just this afternoon, carrying four plates of absolutely gorgeous food, on a football tray, toward some waiting customers out on that spectacular terrace, overlooking holes 10 and 15. I just can’t wait to be one of those customers!

Ari, the owner, tells me the plan is to start rolling out live entertainment on the Green soon, and when I say ‘soon’, I mean soon!

One of the headliners, which will start I think on Wednesday nights, is Michelle Grace, who entertains “with a wide variety of music”, including “the American songbook, jazz standards, Broadway favorites, country, pop”, and more! Let’s all give Grace a big welcome as she brings her “theater and jazz skills” to bear “for a unique and entertaining musical” series of Wednesday evenings!!

Now, it goes without saying that Sterling Farms is the epicenter of everyone in Stamford’s recreational desires, and Ari, and his whole team, are gonna blow our doors off as the summer unfurls itself, and we continue to get this virus behind us. There’s more entertainment in the pipeline, courtesy of The Stillery, as Richard “Cookie” Thomas, a “versatile vocalist, and an undiscovered treasure”, busts out some awesome tunes too. (Cookie’s career began in Philadelphia, in 1960, when he had the opportunity, at fourteen, to open for B.B. King! Cool beans baby!)

Check out Stamford transplant, and headliner-to-be, coming soon to Sterling Farms: Mr. Richard “Cookie” Thomas!

Please give the Everyday Snack Bar, and The Stillery, as well as the beverage cart workers (Kayla and Alexis) extra big tips, and thanks, for their dedication, endurance, and perseverance as the food and beverage operations, at the Farm, begin to really ratchet up and find their footings. We need the great experience, skill, and talent that this team is bringing to bear for us all.

The 2nd floor Stillery Restaurant opened on Wednesday, June 17, 2020. Please excuse my really weak iPhone shot, which I snagged in the middle of my round today, just to show that the place is open open open. You can bet your bottom dollar I’ll be shooting the daylights out of this place all in good time!

Welcome to Sterling Farms Golfer. Over the past five decades, Sterling Farms has evolved into one of the premiere golf destinations anywhere in the region. We continually strive to maintain, if not exceed, that distinction, and know we owe it all to our Stamford families, friends and neighbors, as well as our patrons like you. Now is the best time of the year to play our spectacular 18 hole championship golf course. Our Golf Course Superintendent, Mike Golden, and his whole team, are leaders in the world of greenkeeping, and we are very proud of the quality of their hard work. I think you'll find our putting greens, fairways, tees, roughs—and every landscape feature here—reflects their devotion and hard work. It is spectacular. Sterling Farms is home to the area's top driving range facility. You won't find a better value, or level of quality, anywhere! We take great pride and joy serving you, and our local community. On behalf of all of us here at Sterling Farms, welcome and thank you!
