Sterling Farms Golfers, Marie and Lili, Visit the 2019 CT Golf Show, and ‘Bring it Home’ to You!
The First in a Series of Video Clips from the CT Golf Show
PLEASE MAKE RESPONSIBLE DECISIONS, BASED ON YOUR PERSONAL RISK PROFILE, ON WHETHER TO EXPOSE YOURSELF TO OTHERS AND THE GOLF COURSE.”

While the 2020 season begins to shape up, and Sterling Farms Golfers perch to return (or prepare to return) to golfing at Sterling Farms, I thought showing some highlights from the 2019 Connecticut Golf Show (the 2020 show was cancelled as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak) would be a nice season primer for you to enjoy with your Morning Joe, or favorite happy hour adult beverage. The following is a series of clips we grabbed featuring the CT Golf Show, starring none other than Marie, and Lili’koi (the Hawaiian Golfing Dog) as they bring the best of the spring spectacle to you!
Now, if you’ve never been to the CT Golf Show, it is a glaring, sensory experience replete with amped up techno music, hoards of golfers, and rows upon rows of exhibitors vying for your eyes and ears. Some love it, some endure it, and others can’t help but to give it peek. Here’s your chance for free admission!!!
The once-a-year event is held at the CT Convention Center, located in Hartford, each spring. It is a conglomeration of the game’s major stakeholders all under one big florescent lit, concrete and steel-walled roof, and when I say “big”, I mean B I G !
For two years (2018 and 2019), Marie, Lili, and I sat at the Billy Casper Golf Course Management company table, representing Kaanapali (Maui), and Puakea’s (Kauai), golf courses. This 2020 show would have been our third whack at ‘working the booth’, but COVID-19 took care of that! The ringmaster is a guy named Dick Stephens, whose spritely Lynwood, Washington-based Varsity Communications has been doing these types of shows, in many major markets, forever. Dick is a real character, and Lili, Marie, and I always enjoy it when he comes over to the Billy Casper booth with his microphone, and blasts away at our existence!
But there’s more to the CT Golf Show than that! In addition to the “huge savings and a first look at the newest clubs”, Dick’s website explains, attendees can “enjoy free lessons, instructional seminars, golf fitness, kids areas, a 19th hole lounge and fun tests of skill, including long drive, putting, chipping and closest-to-the-pin contests.”
The promotional copy does the event for more justice than me!
The Connecticut Golf Show is the can’t-miss event of the year, giving golfers their first chance to see and swing the clubs which will be the talk of the golf world in 2020! Take advantage of the lowest prices of the year on name-brand clubs and equipment from the industry’s leading manufacturers; test out top new clubs on a free, indoor driving range lined with expert reps from the top manufacturers in the game; compete in skills contests with unbelievable prizes; and enjoy free lessons from top pros, a fully-stocked 19th Hole lounge, plus special areas for kids, golf fitness and other exciting activities. For a complete list of hours, ticket prices, exhibitors and activities, visit ctgolfshow.com.
Now, this isn’t a free show, normally, but thanks to Marie and Lili (and our future town governor… or… senator… or congressman, Paul Grillo), you have to pay $0.00 for today’s pass!!! How’s that for a bargain? The regular ticket site, including fee, works out to a whopping $16.92, and parking is extra!. That’s 1.5 buckets on us!!!
If you’ve never been to a golf show, it’s certainly a different way to spend your day, but you’ll just have to wait until next year to see it for yourself. Meanwhile, please enjoy what we’ve got for you here.

Welcome to Sterling Farms Golfer. Over the past five decades, Sterling Farms has evolved into one of the premiere golf destinations anywhere in the region. We continually strive to maintain, if not exceed, that distinction, and know we owe it all to our Stamford families, friends and neighbors, as well as our patrons like you. Now is the best time of the year to play our spectacular 18 hole championship golf course. Our Golf Course Superintendent, Mike Golden, and his whole team, are leaders in the world of greenkeeping, and we are very proud of the quality of their hard work. I think you'll find our putting greens, fairways, tees, roughs—and every landscape feature here—reflects their devotion and hard work. It is spectacular. Sterling Farms is home to the area's top driving range facility. You won't find a better value, or level of quality, anywhere! We take great pride and joy serving you, and our local community.
