Stamford Golf Authority executive director Paul Grillo is a very smart businessman. He runs the Sterling Farms Stamford recreational destination with a steady hand, and an ability to keep the financial side of things miraculously in balance. It is magical. He is also a bit of a craftsman, psychologist, mathematician, golf pro, engineer, board director, baby-sitter, parent, architect, course designer, landscaper, physicist, fortune-teller, surgeon, and seer. I can only guess that his daily regimen requires him to display temperament, grace, understanding, patience, and heart. (Brutal.)
Then his day begins. Paul Grillo rolls up his sleeves, gets out there, and does a lot of this or that. In truth: there isn’t a job at Sterling Farms that Paul probably either hasn’t done, or wouldn’t do, himself. I’ve seen him everywhere! He’s the total package, Paul Grillo is…. Proud to know (of) him, I am.
You can imagine, then, just how much I do not want to disappoint this here Mr. Paul Grillo, eh? (Not on me life!!)
Incidentally: all headhunters in search of CEO talent… ya you! If you have a client, say IBM or Texaco, I’ve got your man: Paul Grillo! Best of all: he’s right here in your backyard! Everyone knows the man ought to be running Pepsi, or at least Coca-Cola!
Imagine the commission you’d get for placing him!!! (On second thought: please forget I ever mentioned it. Stamford needs this man way too much.)
Look around and do the math: Sterling Farms is like a Swiss watch! Yep, Paul’s silent yet effective management style, and vision, have had a dramatic impact on the town. The whole of it rears its head in just about every square inch of the property. It truly is the pride and joy of Stamford.
Sterling Farms is a gleaming example of how things ought to work in golf, which is a business that is as hardscrabble, and as difficult to manage, as any!
Now, onto the point of this post… Panos, as in: panoramas, or ultrawide photos! Paul uses a website company that solves all of his needs nicely. That website company uses templates to help Paul do the course’s business. These templates require that the photos to be very wide, yet vertically short from top to bottom. Ultrawides, or panos!
Paul has been nice enough to invite me to submit some photos for possible use on his website. Do you think I’m going to just give him just anything?? Please!
As the highly compensated endorser and contributor of and to Sterling Farms Golfer, you can bet any and all efforts I put forth are going to be my dogged best. That means nothing I submit is ever going to be good enough! Not ever!! (Satisfaction has an unquenchable appetite, you know….)
The goal is to shoot the best photographs of Sterling Farms Golf Course possible. The images here are cropped to fit Paul’s panoramic template window. Each is 1920 pixels wide, by 510 pixels tall.
Hopefully, as seasons unfold, and provided the invitation remains in place, these will likely change over time. I welcome any and all help and/or suggestions or comments.
